Jovian Energetic Neutrals and Ions
2024-03-12T21:10:13Z
PEP (Particle Environment Package) will study the interaction between space and Jupiter’s icy moons.
The instrument with its six sensors will investigate how neutral and charged particles, such as ions, electrons and atoms,
behave in the magnetosphere and the electrical fields contained in the Jupiter system.
JEI: the Jovian Electrons and Ions; measures Plasma electrons; developed by the Max-Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Germany.
Principal Investigator: Stas Barabash, IRF, Kiruna - Co-PI: Peter Wurz, University of Bern - Co-PI: Pontus Brandt, APL/JHU, USA
