2.3.1 spase://CNES/Observatory/CDPP-AMDA/DoubleStar Double Star Chinese/ESA Magnetospheric mission 2017-01-01T20:40:09Z The Double Star mission was a unique scientific collaboration between Europe and China. For the first time, two Chinese spacecraft carried suites of instruments provided by European scientists and funded by European governments and ESA. Double Star follows in the footsteps of ESA's ground-breaking Cluster mission by studying the effects of the Sun on the Earth's environment. Conducting joint studies with Cluster and Double Star increases the overall scientific return from both missions. As its name suggests, Double Star involves two satellites - each designed, developed, launched, and operated by the China National Space Administration (CNSA). The two spacecraft are called TC-1 and TC-2, where TC stands for 'Tan Ce' which means 'Explorer'. spase://SMWG/Person/Christophe.Philippe.Escoubet ProjectScientist ESA Home page http://sci.esa.int/double-star/ Information about the Double Star mission NSSDC's Master Catalog http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/database/MasterCatalog?sc=2003-061A Information about the Double Star mission Earth.Magnetosphere Earth.Magnetosphere Earth.Magnetosphere.Magnetotail Earth.Magnetosheath
