2.3.1 spase://CNES/NumericalData/CDPP-AMDA/Ephemerides/tethys-orb-all Tethys 2017-10-14T11:46:29Z Tethys orbits Saturn at a distance of about 295000 km from the center of the planet. Its orbital eccentricity is negligible, whereas its orbital inclination is about 1°. Tethys is locked in an inclination resonance with Mimas, which, however, does not cause any noticeable orbital eccentricity and tidal heating. The Tethyan orbit lies deep inside the magnetosphere of Saturn, so the plasma co-rotating with the planet strikes the trailing hemisphere of the moon. Tethys is also subject to constant bombardment by the energetic particles (electrons and ions) present in the magnetosphere.[16] Tethys has two co-orbital moons, Telesto and Calypso orbiting near Tethys's trojan points L4 (60° ahead) and L5 (60° behind) respectively. spase://CNES/Person/NAIF PrincipalInvestigator sat-moons-orb PartOf Saturn Moons spase://SMWG/Repository/CNES/CDPP-AMDA Online Open http://amda.cdpp.eu Text.ASCII SPICE spase://CNES/Instrument/CDPP-AMDA/Ephemerides Ephemeris 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z 2023-03-23T23:19:59Z PT20M Saturn Saturn.Tethys distance tethys-saturn tet_sat_r Rs TimeSeries Positional xyz_ksm tet_sat_ksm Rs Cartesian KSM TimeSeries 3 x 1 tet_sat_ksm(0) y 2 tet_sat_ksm(1) z 3 tet_sat_ksm(2) Positional xyz_kso tet_sat_kso Rs Cartesian KSO TimeSeries 3 x 1 tet_sat_kso(0) y 2 tet_sat_kso(1) z 3 tet_sat_kso(2) Positional xyz_IAU_saturn tet_sat_xyz Rs Cartesian IAU_Saturn TimeSeries 3 x 1 tet_sat_xyz(0) y 2 tet_sat_xyz(1) z 3 tet_sat_xyz(2) Positional latitude IAU_saturn tet_sat_lat deg Positional longitude IAU_saturn tet_sat_lon deg Positional
