2.3.1 spase://CNES/NumericalData/CDPP-AMDA/Galileo/EPD/gll-epd-ganyele flybys ganymede flybys ganymede : electrons 2011-09-26T12:32:02Z Energetic electron count rates and fluxes measured by the EPD instrument onboard Galileo in the Record acquisition mode. In this mode, the count rates are accumulated during around 1.25 second. The full opening angle of the EPD telescopes are relatively narrow, between 15° and 18°, and the acquisition period is very short compared to the rotational spin period of Galileo. Counts and fluxes obtained with the Record acquisition mode can therefore be considered as directional flux measurements. The local and equatorial pitch angles that are given are for the particles observed by the center of the telescope viewing cones. The motor that rotates the EPD telescopes around an axis perpendicular to the spin axis of Galileo can have eight different step positions, from 0 to 7. Data are extracted from the text file named 'galileo_epd_calibrated_low_res_v18.txt' produced and provided by JHU/APL and publicly available at http://sd-www.jhuapl.edu/Galileo_EPD/latest_calibrated_data/. It is highly recommended to read the 'readme_v19.docx' document also available at the previous link before using this dataset. It is also recommended to contact Peter Kollmann (JHU/APL), as some measurement channels are highly contaminated or saturated. All unreliable measurements are set to NaN. Energies, species and charge states observed by each measurement channel are discussed in detail in Kollmann et al. [2018, JGR]. * 1996-09-06T18:32:45 1996-09-06T19:28:22 * 1997-04-05T06:44:41 1997-04-05T07:40:18 * 1997-05-07T15:36:54 1997-05-07T16:22:23 * 1997-12-15T09:30:24 1997-12-15T10:30:00 * 2000-05-20T09:40:04 2000-05-20T10:40:41 * 2000-12-28T07:54:42 2000-12-28T08:55:20 spase://SMWG/Person/Donald.J.Williams PrincipalInvestigator spase://CNES/Person/Peter.Kollmann DataProducer spase://CNES/Person/Quentin.Nenon DataProducer spase://CNES/Person/Christopher.Paranicas CoInvestigator spase://CNES/Person/Norbert.Krupp CoInvestigator gll-epd-record-el PartOf record mode : electron channels spase://SMWG/Repository/CNES/CDPP-AMDA http://amda.cdpp.eu NetCDF JHU/APL spase://CNES/Instrument/CDPP-AMDA/Galileo/EPD EnergeticParticles 1996-11-04T13:14:51Z 2001-05-25T11:44:00Z PT1S PT2S Jupiter Electron channels : * B1 : ≥ 36.2 MeV * DC0 : ≥ 14 MeV * DC1 : ≥ 30 MeV * DC2 : ≥ 1.8 MeV * DC3 : ≥ 10.8 MeV * E[0-3] : 15 - 93 keV * F[0-3] : 93 - 884 keV L-shell gll_epd_l_gael TimeSeries Other local pitch angle gll_epd_paloc_gael degree TimeSeries Other motor position gll_epd_motor_gael TimeSeries Other e- : E[0-3] : cnts gll_epd_ga_ecnts s**-1 Spectrogram 4 Electron CountRate e- : E[0-3] : flux gll_epd_ga_eflux cm**-2.s**-1.sr**-1.keV**-1 Spectrogram 4 Electron NumberFlux e- : F[0-3] : cnts gll_epd_ga_fcnts s**-1 Spectrogram 4 Electron CountRate e- : F[0-3] : flux gll_epd_ga_fflux cm**-2.s**-1.sr**-1.keV**-1 Spectrogram 4 Electron NumberFlux e- : B1 : cnts gll_epd_gael_bcnts s**-1 TimeSeries Electron CountRate e- : DC[0-3] : cnts gll_epd_ga_dccnts s**-1 TimeSeries 4 DC0 : > 14 MeV 1 gll_epd_ga_dccnts(0) DC1 : > 30 MeV 2 gll_epd_ga_dccnts(1) DC2 : > 1.8 MeV 3 gll_epd_ga_dccnts(2) DC3 : > 10.8 MeV 3 gll_epd_ga_dccnts(3) Electron CountRate
